Putin announces his position on the export of "Ukrainian grain"

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed, Friday, that the export of grain from Ukraine "is not a problem", at a time when fears of a global food crisis caused by the Russian invasion of the country are increasing.

"There is no problem in exporting grain from Ukraine," Putin said in a televised interview, pointing to several ways to export through Ukrainian or other ports controlled by Moscow or through Central and Eastern Europe.

He believed that Westerners were "deceiving" when they accused Moscow of preventing the export of grain from Ukraine.

He pointed to the possibility of exporting through the Ukrainian ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk on the Sea of Azov, which leads to the Black Sea, which Moscow controlled during its attack.

He also touched on possible export operations through the Black Sea ports that are still in the hands of the Ukrainians, especially the port of Odessa.
