Putin: Iran's full participation in the "Shanghai Organization" will have a positive effect

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Friday that Russia supports Iran and Belarus joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as soon as possible, stressing that this will have a positive impact on the organization's work.

"Russia supports the completion of the process of Iran's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and this is the goal of the relevant documents and memoranda signed today. We are convinced that the full participation of Iran will have a positive impact on the work of the organization, because this country plays an important role in the Eurasia region and in the world as a whole. Putin said, in a speech during the summit in Uzbekistan.

Putin stressed that the volume of transactions in national currencies within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries is increasing, stressing that global economic policies are undergoing irreversible transformations.

"Strengthening the economic part of cooperation has been an essential part of the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Through joint efforts, trade and investment exchanges are expanding, and mutually beneficial business projects are being implemented in various industries," Putin added.
