Putin issues a decree transferring ownership of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on Wednesday transferring ownership of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to Russia.


The document states that the Russian Federation government does the following:


a) ensuring that the facilities for the use of nuclear energy at the Zaporozhye nuclear power generation plant, and any other property necessary for carrying out its activity, are accepted into the federal property.


b) take measures for the establishment of the Federal State Corporation "Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant" with the aim of providing security of facilities for the use of nuclear energy at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

Also, Putin issued a decree to put the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant under Russian administration.


The decree stated: Giving the joint-stock company "Zaporgia Nuclear Power Plant Operating Company" the status of an operator company in the field of nuclear energy use, and carrying out on its own or with the participation of other companies the activities of operating and decommissioning the nuclear facilities of the Zaporozhye plant."
