Putin: The accession of the 4 regions to Russia is not for negotiation, and we will defend our lands

Russian President Vladimir Putin said today, Friday, that "the people of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye have decided their decision to join the Russian Federation," stressing that "this is their right."

In a speech by the Russian President at the ceremony of accepting the accession of the four new regions to Russia, Putin said: "Today we are signing the agreement on the accession of the 4 regions to the Russian Federation."

"The annexation of the 4 regions to the Russian Federation reflects the popular will of millions," explaining that "Russia does not seek to invoke the past that witnessed the collapse of the Soviet Union," he pointed out.

"The people of these four regions have been subjected to bombardment and threats over the years by the Kyiv regime," stressing that "the people of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye have become today and forever citizens of Russia," Putin noted.

The Russian president called "the Kyiv regime to cease fire and war and return to the negotiating table," adding: "We are ready for that."

"Russia will not negotiate the results of the referendum in the 4 regions, and we will defend our lands," he noted.

"We will rebuild the infrastructure in the new regions that have joined Russia and raise the level of security in them," he added.

Putin stressed that "the West is trying once again to weaken and divide Russia and turn peoples against each other," stressing that "the West is doing everything in its power to preserve the colonial system."

"The West does not like the presence of a rich country like Russia that does not accept dictates," noting that "it does not want Russia to be free, but rather wants to plunder its wealth," the Russian president pointed out.

"The West has breached its promises that NATO will not expand to the east," adding that "Russia has a long history and will not comply with the rules established by the West, which destroyed the principle of territorial sovereignty and unity," he explained.

The Russian president asked: "What does the West think that its civilization is a model for everyone on the principle of whoever is not with us is against us?" He stressed that "the hatred of the Russians is caused by our refusal to plunder our country and our insistence on our interests."
