The Khimki District Court of the Moscow suburbs sentenced American basketball player Britney Grenier to 9.5 years in prison for drug smuggling.

Britney Grenier was detained at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport last February, accused of attempting to smuggle narcotics into Russia.


According to Russian customs, electronic cigarettes and cannabis oil were found in the bags of the former Phoenix Mercury player, the NBA women's basketball player.


On Thursday, July 7, 31-year-old Britney Grenier pleaded guilty to the alleged drug smuggling charge.
