Russia imposes sanctions against 87 Canadians, and promises more sanctions

Today, Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that 87 Canadian citizens have been included in the entry ban list, including provincial governors, military personnel and heads of companies, in response to the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the Canadian government.

“In response to the anti-Russian sanctions, imposed from time to time by the Justin Trudeau regime, which have affected representatives of the authorities at various levels, including regional representatives, journalists, cultural activists, and ordinary citizens, it was decided to ban the entry of 87 Canadian citizens to the territory. Russia,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"Among those banned from entering Russia are regional chiefs, military personnel and heads of companies who supply the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv with weapons and dual-use technology," the statement noted.

"Taking into account that the Canadian sanctions list is likely to expand, the Russian side will announce a new addition of Canadian citizens to the sanctions list, on the basis of the principle of reciprocity," the statement added.
