The Iraqi government cancels the "security check" in the areas liberated from ISIS

The Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced the abolition of security checks in the areas retaken from the control of the terrorist organization "ISIS".

The ministry said in a statement that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces (and Prime Minister) Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani has ordered the cancellation of the security audit in the liberated areas."

“Security vetting” is a procedure carried out by the Iraqi forces to ensure that people returning to their areas are not wanted by the authorities, a procedure that residents of those areas have suffered over the past years, and which has impeded the return of some of them.
