The Israeli army attacks the funeral procession of the Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh

Today, Friday, the Israeli army launched a violent attack on the funeral procession of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh to her final resting place, using stun grenades.


The body of the Qatari journalist, Al-Jazeera, will be transferred to East Jerusalem, where the funeral service will be held at the Roman Catholic Church in Bab Al-Khalil, inside the Old City. Not with pedestrians.

Shireen Abu Aqleh, a 51-year-old Christian, was born in East Jerusalem, and she will be buried alongside her parents in the Zion Cemetery near the Old City.

Thousands of Palestinians participated in honoring Abu Aqleh on Thursday. Palestinian officials, foreign diplomats and a crowd of Palestinians attended an official ceremony in Ramallah at the Palestinian Authority headquarters in the West Bank, where the journalist's coffin was carried draped in the Palestinian flag.
