The spring of civilization and agriculture in Iraq is threatened by drought

The Tigris River narrated the civilizations of Sumer and Babylon throughout history, but today it is battling death. Excessive human activity and climate change threaten to wipe out a lifeline in Iraq that is thousands of years old.

For that Arab country with a population of 42 million, the Tigris is a source of civilization and agriculture, in addition to countless natural disasters.

Starting in April, the temperature exceeded 35 degrees Celsius and sandstorms followed, covering people, animals and machines with an orange film, before the summer arrived, the season of hell for Iraqis, when the temperature reached 50 degrees Celsius and electricity was cut off due to increased pressure on the grid.
