The UN envoy to Yemen confirms that the truce is still holding

The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, said that the truce in the country has been holding for more than three months to date, and has resulted in a significant decrease in the number of civilian casualties.

In a speech before the Security Council to be informed of the latest developments and peace efforts in Yemen, Grundberg explained that "the decrease in the number of civilian casualties is estimated by two-thirds compared to what was the case in the three months preceding the start of the truce."

He stated that he is still receiving reports from both sides regarding alleged incidents inside Yemen, stressing that his office supports the parties in establishing communication channels to help them manage those alleged incidents in a peaceful manner.
