The US State Department warns its citizens against entering an area of the Kuwaiti capital

The US State Department warned its citizens not to enter the "Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh" area, in the Kuwaiti capital.

The ministry said in a statement that its citizens should not enter the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area in the Kuwaiti capital due to the high crime rates in that area, indicating that "the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has identified Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, on the outskirts of Kuwait International Airport, as a high-crime area."

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced late Thursday that it had summoned Acting US Embassy Chargé d'Affairs Jim Holzneider, against the background of publications about homosexuality.

The Foreign Ministry stressed the need to respect the laws and regulations in force and the obligation not to publish such tweets, in compliance with what was stipulated in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
