The Yemeni Transitional Council announces control of an "al-Qaeda" camp in Abyan

The Southern Transitional Council, in the temporary capital of Aden, south of Yemen, announced that its forces had taken control of a terrorist camp of Al-Qaeda in the Abyan Governorate, southeast of Yemen, with a military operation.

"The forces took control of the al-Sari camp affiliated with terrorist groups in the district of Mudiyah [northeast of Abyan] as part of Operation Arrows al-Sharq to secure Abyan Governorate from terrorist elements," said the spokesman for the Transitional Council forces, Lt. Col. Muhammad al-Naqib, today, Sunday.

He added that "the forces also took control of Aked camp in the same district of Mudiyah [in the northeastern side of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan governorate]."

"During the military operation carried out with direct coordination by the Arab coalition, the forces managed to break down Al-Qaeda's hideouts in Abyan Governorate," the military spokesman confirmed.
