Triglycerides .. What is the best diet to get rid of them?

High triglycerides are a risk factor for cardiovascular health. So, keep the levels of these fats low, along with monitoring your blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

There is no doubt that a diet or a healthy diet is what contributes to achieving these goals.

And dietitian Abeer Abu Rjaili, from the Diet of the Town Clinic, shares with you in the following article the best diet for burning triglycerides:

A diet rich in fiber

Increasing your intake of dietary fiber, (which is abundant in fruits, vegetables, grains...), reduces the body's absorption of fats and sugars in the intestines; This contributes to reducing triglyceride levels in the blood.

Eat fatty fish twice a week

Of course, you may have heard of omega-3, which is a type of fatty acid that helps you lower triglyceride levels in the body. You can find omega-3s in abundance in fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, herring, and mackerel. Therefore, it is recommended to eat two meals of this fish per week, provided that it is grilled instead of frying, which loses its high nutritional value of omega-3.

Consumption of raw nuts

Nuts such as walnuts, almonds, cashews and hazelnuts… contain large amounts of fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and unsaturated fats, all of which contribute to lowering triglycerides in the blood.

Avoid saturated and hydrogenated fats

If you want to burn triglycerides, you should consider grilling instead of frying in different oils. You should also pay attention to hydrogenated oils, which are included in many ready-made foods and nutrients, which you often find on the content label.

Reduce red meat

Care must be taken to reduce the intake of red meat in the diet for burning triglycerides; Because this meat is one of the foods that contribute to raising the rate of these fats in the blood, due to its fat content.

Avoid sweets and sugars

It is advised not to eat sweets and sugars, which negatively affect the health of the body, and exacerbate triglycerides in the body.

Weight loss diet

It is necessary to lose weight when there is a high level of triglycerides in the body. Therefore, you should follow a healthy, thoughtful, low-calorie diet; In order to lose a few kilograms; Especially since the excess calories are converted into body fat.

Doing sports

Regular exercise, especially aerobic exercises such as swimming, jogging, walking and cycling contribute to raising the level of good cholesterol, HDL, and lowering the level of triglycerides in the blood. It is recommended to engage in aerobic exercise for at least half an hour a day, for 5 days a week.
