Video, a strange way to reveal the gender of the newborn, a couple was subjected to legal prosecution

A Brazilian couple angered the government and thousands of people on the Internet, after a video clip spread of them turning a waterfall of water abnormally blue on September 25, as part of a gender reveal party.

The video was first published on the couple's accounts on social media platforms, before they later deleted it, as it showed the water turning blue among a number of people celebrating among the blue and pink balloons.

Although the couple deleted the main video from their accounts, it was posted on a number of social media platforms.

The river, known as the Queuma pé river, is a popular tourist destination in the Brazilian city of Mato Grosso, and is a major source of water for the neighboring Tangará de serra.

The video caused a flurry of criticism and comments on Reddit. Commentators have expressed outrage at what the couple did to a tourist attraction. One person wrote: “Why do these people keep hurting nature, just because they think they are special?”

The incident required a statement from the Ministry of Environment in the aforementioned region, which confirmed that it would investigate the couple to determine the products that were used to dye the waterfall and whether there was any environmental pollution.

Surprisingly, the unnamed Brazilian couple aren't the first to dye water as part of their baby gender reveal party. A quick Tiktok search shows videos of waterfalls painted blue and pink.
