Yemen.. Night protests against high fuel prices in Aden

On Sunday evening, the temporary Yemeni capital, Aden, witnessed angry popular demonstrations, protesting against the rise in fuel prices and the lack of services in the city.

The protests came after an official in the state oil company in Aden announced on Sunday that the company decided to raise the prices of commercial gasoline by 14%, in areas controlled by the government, amid a severe fuel crisis in Aden and neighboring cities for days.

According to the official, according to the decision, which took effect on Sunday, the price of a 20-liter gallon of gasoline in commercial stations belonging to the private sector will rise to 25,800 riyals (about $23) from 22,500 riyals.

Eyewitnesses said that hundreds of angry protesters set fire to damaged tires and closed the main streets in the Mansoura district of Aden, in protest against the poor services and the high prices of food and fuel.
