Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed, "We have taken a decisive step by signing Ukraine's request for rapid accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)."



This comes after the Ukrainian president met with his army commanders after Russia annexed 4 Ukrainian regions, namely Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye.


Russian President Vladimir Putin announced, during the signing ceremony of the agreements on the annexation of Lugansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye to the Russian Federation, that "Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson have become Russian regions," noting that "the annexation of the regions The new four of the Russian Federation expresses the popular will of millions, and pointed out that "the choice of millions of people in these regions is realized after the catastrophe of the fragmentation of the Soviet Union."
